The eCV Collaboratory has formalized our current Grand Challenge ideas into several human-focused service systems related e-categories several of which are key components of Smart City efforts:

- Health as a Service (HaaS) with focus on the patient/caregiver

- Learning as a Service (LaaS) with focus on the student/parent

- Business as a Service (BaaS) with focus on the employee/customer

- Government as a Service (GaaS) with focus on the citizen/taxpayer/visitor

- Aging as a Service (AaaS) with focus on keeping one Independent and “Happy” as one ages

- Space as a Service (SaaS) with focus on individuals benefiting from space systems

- eSports as a Service (eSaaS) with focus on the fan
